Melaka polls: Pas machinery mobilised, PN confident of defeating PH

Translate

KOTA BARU: Perikatan Nasional (PN) is confident of defeating Pakatan Harapan (PH) in next month's Melaka state election.

PN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said support for the coalition had been positive so far.

"We are confident of challenging PH in Melaka with the support we have. Survey data also shows that Melaka voters continue to support PN and Pas, as they did in the last general election.

"Pas has also mobilised its machinery and is taking every contest seriously. What matters is that our machinery continues to engage with the people, not just ahead of state elections, unlike other parties," he said when contacted.

The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day for the 16th Melaka state election, with nomination day scheduled for Oct 31.

Melaka has 28 state seats. In the previous state election, Barisan Nasional won 21 seats, PH secured five and PN took two.
