MP Rashdi Adiong is on the verge of securing a seat of power for the Adiong-led SIAP in the Bangsamoro Parliament

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Member of Parliament Rashdi Adiong currently holds a wide lead in the 9th District of Lanao del Sur, as the transmission of the Bangsamoro parliamentary election results nears completion.

Adiong has 33,812 votes so far, with 93.82% precincts reporting as of Monday, September 14, 10:29 pm.

His closest competitor, Anwar Galo-Lamping — a former municipal councilor in Lumba-Bayabao and the bet of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party – has only 5,855 votes. Trailing behind is Islamic scholar and Bangsamoro Party bet Jalal Abdul Bayabao with 4,183 votes.

Adiong, who hails from the influential Alonto-Adiong clan, ran under the banner of the Serbisyong Inklusibo-Alyansang Progresibo Party or SIAP, which is led by Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Adiong Jr. and his son, Lanao del Sur Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid Adiong. – Rappler.com
