During the popular AskSRK session, a fan pointed out that they had asked Shah Rukh Khan the same question several times but had never received a response. This time, the fan asked the Bollywood superstar to describe Mahesh Babu in one word.“Asked many times, but no reply... I hope I'll get the reply this time,” the fan wrote.Shah Rukh finally noticed the question and responded warmly. Rather than limiting his answer to a single word, he spoke about his personal experience of meeting Mahesh.“He is too sweet and kind every time we have met,” Shah Rukh said, before adding, “Bless him.”

Mahesh Babu had also expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan on the Bollywood superstar’s 60th birthday in 2025.On November 2, 2025, Mahesh shared a picture featuring himself, Shah Rukh and his wife Namrata Shirodkar. Shah Rukh Khan’s next film is 'King'

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for 'King', directed by Siddharth Anand. The film marks Shah Rukh’s first theatrical collaboration with his daughter Suhana Khan, who will make her theatrical debut alongside him.

'King' is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24, 2026, during the Christmas period. The film also features Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi and Raghav Juyal, among others.The film is produced by Gauri Khan, Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.

Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film with SS Rajamouli

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is working on SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated 'Varanasi'.

The film features Mahesh in the lead role as Rudra, a time-travelling adventurer, with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran also part of the cast.'Varanasi' is among the most eagerly awaited upcoming Indian films and is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 7, 2027. The project marks Mahesh Babu’s first collaboration with 'Baahubali' and 'RRR' director SS Rajamouli, making it one of the biggest upcoming releases in Indian cinema.
