The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has begun mobilising All Progressives Congress members and stakeholders across Oyo State for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the victory of other party candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Tegbe kicked off the statewide campaign in Ibadan on Sunday with strategic meetings involving party leaders, executives and community stakeholders from Ibadan South-East and Ibadan North Local Government Areas, where he called for unity and stronger grassroots mobilisation ahead of the polls.

“We must take this mobilisation to every ward and polling unit across Oyo State. Our victory in 2027 will depend on our ability to unite our members, engage the people and convince them of the benefits of continuity under President Tinubu,” Tegbe said.

Making a case for Tinubu’s re-election, the minister said the President’s power sector reforms were beginning to yield improvements, expressing optimism that ongoing federal interventions would improve electricity supply and enhance the quality of life of residents.

“We will spare no effort to ensure that President Bola Tinubu gets re-elected in 2027, and we are not going to stop at that, as all the candidates of our great party will get our full backing,” Tegbe said.

He urged APC members in Oyo State to put aside their differences, close ranks and work collectively to secure victory for Tinubu and the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Highlighting federal government interventions in the state, Tegbe disclosed that solar mini-grids would be constructed in different locations, while electrification projects in Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa were nearing completion.

According to him, the projects are expected to address persistent electricity challenges in the affected areas and improve access to reliable power supply.

“Our commitment is not just about politics; it is also about delivering tangible benefits to the people. The ongoing electrification projects and planned solar mini-grids demonstrate the Federal Government’s determination to expand access to reliable electricity and improve economic activities across Oyo State,” he added.

He expressed optimism that the completion of the projects would bring relief to communities that had endured years of inadequate electricity supply.

The APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, who attended the meeting, expressed confidence in Tegbe’s capacity to deliver on his responsibilities and urged party members to support the minister with prayers.

Other party leaders at the engagements also expressed confidence in Tegbe’s ability to meet expectations, while reaffirming their support for the party’s political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
