Pierce Brosnan Says Tom Hardy ‘MobLand’ Feud Was “Storm In A Teacup”

Pierce Brosnan has said that it is all happy families on the set of Paramount+’s MobLand.

At the Season 2 premiere in London, Brosnan was asked about the behind-the-scenes drama involving Tom Hardy, who reportedly clashed with showrunner Jez Butterworth and had timekeeping issues on set.

“Oh my God, it was a storm in a teacup, really,” the James Bond star told Press Association. “I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I’m a massive fan of the man’s work. Truly.

“We are rock solid as a company, as a family. Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot. It moves very fast so it’s not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that.”

Hardy added that it was a “privilege” to work with Brosnan and Helen Mirren. “In many aspects, of course, I look up to them. Coming up, these are actors that came before me,” he told PA.

“So to be able to work with them is a privilege, but also to be able to enjoy them, watching them spread their wings with their range now as well, and play against their type in some aspects, and really enjoy that is a beautiful thing to watch as a human being.”

Mirren also joined the chorus. “The relationships are amazing. Obviously, Pierce and I have an extraordinary chemistry on-screen and off-screen. We’re very, very fond of each other. We respect each other enormously,” she said.

The actors are set to be reunited in Season 3, which was confirmed by Paramount earlier this month after a meeting in London between Hardy, Butterworth and series executive producer David C. Glasser, where they hashed things out

In Season 2 of MobLand, produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire – and Harry Da Souza (Hardy), their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer,’ must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.

Alongside Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren, Season 2 also stars Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer, and Toby Jones.

MobLand is executive produced by Glasser, Ritchie, Butterworth, Hardy, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Keith Cox.

Following Season 2’s September 18 premiere on Paramount+, new episodes from MobLand‘s ten-episode second season will be available to stream weekly on Fridays, culminating in the season finale on November 20
