Michael McIntyre's The Wheel returns for season 7 as starry line-up is revealed

Translate

Michael McIntyre's The Wheel is spinning back onto BBC One for a seventh season, and Radio Times can exclusively reveal the stars joining the show as celebrity experts!

Returning on Saturday 14 November at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer, the hit quiz show sees three contestants play for a cash prize with the help of seven famous faces, each perched on a giant rotating wheel and assigned a specialist subject such as sport, music or food.

Kicking off proceedings next weekend will be Michael Ball, Jordan Banjo, Kate Garraway, Isa Guha, Harriet Kemsley, Perri Kiely, Matt Morsia and Katherine Ryan.

Across the new run, McIntyre welcomes a wide mix of comedians, musicians, presenters and sports stars. Later episodes include Italian Bach, Bez, Kerry Godliman, Trevor Nelson, Shaun Ryder, Angela Scanlon, Alex Scott and Josh Widdicombe in one show, while another brings together Karen Carney, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Harry Hill, Judi Love, Niko Omilana, Tom Rosenthal and Ellie Simmonds.

A further episode features ChrisMD, Alex Horne, Martin Kemp, Roman Kemp, Oti Mabuse, Briony May Williams, Jill Scott and Tim Vine. Rounding out the announced celebrity guests are Mark Bonnar, Pat Cash, Josie Gibson, Alex Jones, Nisha Katona, Nish Kumar and Jordan North.

The format, which McIntyre has said he dreamed up in the bath, keeps contestants on a smaller wheel beneath the towering celebrity wheel. A spin lifts one player into the centre to answer questions, but the giant wheel randomly decides which celebrity will help, meaning the chosen expert may or may not actually know the subject.

Players can mark a subject's specialist as their gold expert to boost winnings, and shut down another celebrity in red to avoid landing on them. The round ends with a final Cash Out question for the banked prize.

Michael McIntyre's The Wheel begins on Saturday 14 November at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
