It may not have hit the headlines as much as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but the 2023 sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, definitely cemented itself as a worthy Zelda entry.

As part of the 'Wilds' duology, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrived on the Nintendo Switch and told the story of Link as he, once again, searches for Princess Zelda, all whilst fighting to stop Ganondorf from destroying Hyrule once and for all.

Despite maintaining the same open-world gameplay from Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom introduced plenty of new mechanics, especially centered around building. As such, players could create their very own constructs capable of traveling across land and air, as well as having to navigate plenty of floating islands and vast underground areas.

Now, three years on from its launch, and despite Nintendo turning its attention to the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake for the Nintendo Switch 2, Tears of the Kingdom is still set to receive some love, courtesy of an upcoming release.

Over on the official Nintendo Store, fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can now get their hands on a brand-new amiibo: Mineru's Construct. If you were unaware, an amiibo is an interactive collectible figure that usually launches alongside a card that will allow customers to unlock content in game.

In this instance, the Mineru's Construct figure is set to launch on 17 September, and comes in at a respectable £24.99, but that is not all. As an amiibo, you will be able to scan the card and add this stunning construct to your copy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Available for pre-order now, this marks the perfect DLC for a game that is unlikely to receive any more official updates.

Following its announcement earlier this year, Zelda fans took to r/nintendo to share their thoughts on the latest addition to the amiibo line.

"That actually looks cooler than I expected. The arms look even more flexible than the Guardian!" The top comment reads. Another said, "I thought this thing was never going to be released."

However, on r/zelda, other fans were debating whether the price tag for the Mineru's Construct amiibo was worth it, with one user asking, "How do you guys feel about the Mineru Construct amiibo costing $35? It looks really cool, and it has posable and flexible arms. I want to get it, but... I don't like the price."

One response read, "If you're a Zelda collector, then definitely, but otherwise, way too much. I'm personally getting it because I collect the Zelda amiibo, but otherwise, I'd skip it." Another agreed, adding, "There are much better amiibos out there, at least for me. Given the age of the game already, it has lost all hype for me, I don't understand why they release this so late."

With the Mineru's Construct amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom expected to launch in just two days, you have time to decide whether you want to commit to this latest release.
