The BCCI has announced that the fifth edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will take place between January 14 and February 7, 2027.
The dates place the tournament just prior to the inuagural edition of the Women’s Champions Trophy, which was recently shifted to India from Sri Lanka.
The player auction for the tournament will take place on October 28 in Kochi, with the player retention deadline carded for September 28, one month earlier.
It is understood that Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium and the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara are the two venues in line to host the tournament. Both venues are also set to host Champions Trophy matches, leaving little turnaround time between the two competitions.
There is also the possibility of Varanasi becoming a third venue if the stadium is ready in time for the tournament.
