Pokémon Trading Card Game has just implemented a new lottery system that has gone live across Target storefronts, and it will become a bit more complex to acquire products like booster packs moving forward. Across the globe, The Pokémon Company, in collaboration with stores, has been issuing measures against Pokémon TCG scalpers. There is, for example, a limit to how much of a certain product you can purchase, depending at the store you visit, and even at Pokémon Centers, you may have to participate in a lottery system to see if you can purchase a select number of booster packs.
According to a new report by Polygon, Target stores have effectively started using a lottery system for the sale of Pokémon TCG products.
