Angelina Jolie sells Los Angeles home for USD 24.75 million

Angelina Jolie has sold her historic Los Angeles estate for an estimated USD 24.75 million. This sale reportedly falls well below the actress' asking price for the property, estimated at nearly USD 30 million.

The Oscar-winning actress, has sold the sprawling 11,000-square-foot estate in Los Feliz, TMZ reports. Jolie put the plot on the market for USD 29.85 million in May. She had purchased the historic residence in June 2017 for USD 24.5 million, in 2017, the year after she filed for divorce from Pitt. The couple had been married for two years and together for around 11 years when Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016.The actress moved into the home with her six children — Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 18.

The six-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate was once owned by legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille. According to People, the property features a sprawling Beaux Arts-style mansion, a 1,000-square-foot guest house and studio with its own private gated entrance, a 40-foot-long swimming pool, pool house, fitness studio and tea house. It also has a separate garage with a security station.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the property includes a basement with a laundry room, staff quarters and a wine cellar.

The grounds feature century-old trees and expansive lawns, while the estate offers views of the Hollywood Hills, the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory.The house was originally designed by architect B Cooper Corbett in 1913 and was acquired by DeMille in 1916. According to the listing, DeMille's family retained ownership of the estate until the late 1980s.

Angelina Jolie announces plans to leave LA

Jolie opened up about her plans to leave Los Angeles once her youngest children reached the age of 18.

At the time, she said she remained in Los Angeles "because I have to be here from a divorce". As per reports, her divorce arrangements required her to be in LA till her youngest kids reached adulthood.The twins turned 18 in July, allowing the actress to pursue plans to move abroad. “When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety,” Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter in August 2024. “I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.”As per reports, Jolie will now set out on her plans to live a 'nomadic' lifestyle and live in various places around the world, while also pursuing philanthropic work.
