After retiring hurt on 82 on Day 1, Kumar Kushagra brought up his seventh First-Class century on Day 2 of the first unofficial Test between India A and Australia A in Puducherry on Wednesday.
It was Kushagra’s second century in as many games, after he scored a hundred in the Duleep Trophy final to help East Zone win the title.
His innings has helped India A recover from a precarious 97/5 and put the side in a position to post a 300-plus first-innings total.
On a two-paced surface that has offered assistance to the spinners, Kushagra has looked assured with his shot selection. He has also put together a 138-run partnership with Tanush Kotian to pull India A out of trouble.
Along with his seven First-Class centuries, Kushagra has also scored six half-centuries.
