A Ghosts alum is crossing over in an unexpected way, making a move to the hit CBS show's companion series Eternally Yours with a new role this season.
CBS will be bringing a familiar face from Ghosts into its growing lineup of supernatural comedies with an appearance on the show's sister series, Eternally Yours, which is created by Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. The new series follows Charles (Ed Weeks) and Liz (Allegra Edwards), a vampire couple whose 500-year marriage is facing a modern struggle when they find out their daughter, Emma (Helen J. Shen), has fallen for a human man, Max (Jaren Lewison). With the series premiering ahead of Ghosts, which will return in early 2027 with its sixth season, Eternally Yours has some exciting episodes in its early stretch, including a few with familiar guest stars.
Asif Ali, who previously appeared in Ghosts season 4 as Jay's (Utkarsh Ambudkar) cousin Sunil, will be taking on a new role in the world of Eternally Yours, guest starring on an episode according to the show's NYCC panel (via Collider). The panel revealed that Ali will take on the role of Igor, a serious bureaucrat who's consistently businesslike when it comes to his work with the Vampire Council. During his time on Ghosts, viewers got the chance to see Ali play Sunil, a character who was firmly stationed outside of the supernatural world of the series despite Hetty's (Rebecca Wisocky) romantic interest in him. Igor, on the other hand, is someone who exists within the supernatural scope of Eternally Yours, an exciting shift for Ali.
While there's little known about when Igor will appear or if there's a chance for Ali to return to Eternally Yours in the future, the fact that he'll be part of the Ghosts sister series is an exciting development. The NYCC panel also revealed that there will be some great guest stars as Eternally Yours season 1 continues, including legendary comedian Tim Meadows and Emmy winner Jeff Hiller. Meadows, who will play vampire dentist Dr. Edwards, and Hiller, who will come to Eternally Yours as mischievous old-world vampire Aldrict, will both appear on the series in its opening season.
With Ali and other stars joining Eternally Yours as it moves through its inaugural season, the connection between the supernatural universes woven by the series are becoming stronger with each passing guest spot. Although Ali won't be a thread between the shows, seeing a familiar face from Ghosts will be a welcome addition to the new CBS series as it continues to find its footing with supernatural loving audiences.
