KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 — Malaysia Airlines advises passengers travelling from KL International Airport (KLIA) on Oct 2-4, 2026 to allow additional travel time to the airport, due to expected traffic congestion during the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.

The national airline said that while access to KLIA remains available, passengers are advised to monitor the latest traffic and road closure updates from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and plan alternative routes where necessary.

It also stated that passengers are encouraged to consider using the KLIA Ekspres service to reach the airport.

“Passengers are advised to arrive at KLIA at least three hours before the scheduled departure time for international flights and two hours before the scheduled departure time for domestic flights to ensure a smooth process.

“Malaysia Airlines said the check-in counters close 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time for both domestic and international flights,” it said in a post on X. — Bernama
