Victoria Bright welcomes automated traffic enforcement system, says it is long overdue

Private legal practitioner Victoria Bright has welcomed the introduction of the new automated traffic enforcement system, describing it as a necessary and long-overdue intervention to help save lives on Ghana’s roads.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, November 7, she said the initiative was a positive development, particularly given the number of lives lost through road traffic accidents in the country.
Ms Bright argued that any measure capable of improving road safety and preventing avoidable deaths should be welcomed.
“For me, I think it’s a good thing, and it’s long overdue. Any initiative that would save lives is definitely to be welcomed. That’s my opinion. We have seen too many people die on our roads,” she said.
Her comments follow the introduction of the automated traffic enforcement system, which is aimed at strengthening traffic law enforcement through technology.
She maintained that the initiative was necessary in view of the persistent loss of lives on Ghana’s roads.
The system, which became operational on November 1, 2026, is intended to strengthen compliance with road traffic regulations through technology-driven monitoring and enforcement.
