Naruto Officially Returns October 2026 In Naruto Mythos

Naruto has earned its place in the pantheon of classic anime shonen. It's been around for decades and still feels relevant, with tons of kids still dressing up as the character, and the phrase "Naruto run" has made its way into the lexicon of so many fans, whether they follow Naruto or not.

Its character designs are part of its enduring appeal, as is Bandai Namco's dogged determination to keep this anime in the limelight. Thanks to a new confirmation from Bandai Namco themselves, we know something else is coming for Naruto in October.

In October, Bandai Namco will release the second wave of content for Set 2 of the Naruto Mythos card game, one of two Naruto card gamesunder the company's umbrella. The other version is coming next year and is highly anticipated, but Naruto Mythos is already on Set 2. It's called "Shinobi Shiren," and the first wave launched earlier in September, while the second wave is still slated for October.

The team has gotten a lot of feedback from Set 1, which has been incorporated into Set 2: "We received amazing feedback on the numbered cards from Set 1, where we introduced 4 alternate secret rare cards limited to 75 copies each. With Set 2, we’re taking this concept even further - introducing a more refined and structured numbering system. This will not only enhance long-term collectible value but also give collectors even more high-value cards to chase." "Real 22K gold" with micro-engraved text will return to Set 2 as well.

The balance of card rarities will change, with the aim of making them more accessible, while others will be highly limited, playing into the numbered rare cards mentioned above. As a result, "several new rarity levels" are coming across the entire set:

"We know that extremely limited cards (like runs of 50, 250, or 500) can be tough to obtain, so we wanted to strike a better balance. That’s why we’re also introducing a new rarity tier for special designs, with a defined pull rate. This keeps cards exciting to chase while still giving more players a fair shot at owning something unique.

However, there is a catch to all this Naruto card game news. The original pre-release weekend, set for the end of August, was canceled. Although Set 2 (1st Edition) arrived earlier this month, Special Pack Design A was bumped to October.
