Who is Danni? Meet The Great British Bake Off 2026 contestant and service administrator
We're days away from the return of The Great British Bake Off – with 12 new contestants ready to whip up a storm in the tent in order to be declared this year's winner.
Among them is Danni, a service administrator who's ready to trade in 18-wheelers and prove themselves a baker on the rise.
They've got some tough competition though, with judge Paul Hollywood telling Radio Times about this year's competition: "We set the bar so high that they're almost... you almost have to be professional just to get into the tent, and if it lacks in any department, we will find that shortfall, you know, but it's up to the bakers to practice."
Ahead of their debut in the tent, here's everything you need to know about Danni, including their baking super power.

Danni is a 25-year-old HGV service centre administrator from Dorset where they live with their parents, sister and three cocker spaniels.
What makes Danni's bakes unique is they love to forage for their own ingredients while exploring the countryside. Their bakes often combine foraged finds such as magnolia, chestnut and dandelion with far-flung flavours like ube and red bean paste.
A tech enthusiast, if Danni isn't soldering broken traces on the motherboard of their Commodore 64 then they're decorating their bakes with inspiration from video games and animation.
They said of finding out they'd be on the show: "I never thought I’d actually get to the Big White Tent! Everyone was so so nice throughout the whole process, so I was having so much fun even just going through the motions and treating it as a fun break from the norm, I hadn’t actually figured I would make it in!"
What is Danni's secret baking "super power"?
Danni said their secret baking super power is their perseverance and the fact they never give up.
"Even if I fail and fail and fail and fail I just get back up and keep going and try again in a different way, because failing something just means you’ve learnt something new about what you’re making!" they explained.
"Be that if you’ve made something for the first time, or if you’re making something for the 285th billionth time, to fail means you always have an opportunity to learn more about what you’re making so it’s more rewarding than if you just get it right the first time."
