In September 2024, former BBC news presenter Huw Edwards was given a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, at Westminster Magistrates' Court after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children.
And in March this year, Edwards hired publicist Barry Tomes to help him navigate further public backlash from the scandal following a Channel 5 drama starring Martin Clunes as the disgraced presenter.
After the pair parted ways the publicist told the Daily Mail about the range of opportunities he believes will resurface for Edwards as a result of this year's docudrama film.
‘I am confident that he will be given the opportunity to speak out on national television,’ Tomes said.
‘All of the major TV channels, including Good Morning Britain and BBC production companies offered interviews following the Channel 5 series.'
