The NFL and Netflix have found what they are looking for.

The streaming giant said Tuesday that it was bringing in the rock band U2 to be the headliner for its new Thanksgiving Eve NFL game, which will see the Green Bay Packers take on the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in L.A. Nov. 25, the day before Thanksgiving.

U2, of course, last played an NFL game at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2002, a memorable performance that saw them pay tribute to the victims of 9/11, which took place just a few months earlier.

“There’s a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades: they don’t just perform, they deliver iconic moments audiences remember forever,” said Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix. “We’re thrilled that they’ll bring that same magic to the NFL stage on Netflix. It’s going to be an unforgettable night for football fans and Netflix members worldwide.”

Netflix and the NFL have leaned into the halftime shows since the streamer acquired NFL Christmas Day games a couple years back. Last year Snoop Dogg hosted a “Holiday Halftime Party,” which also featured performances from Lainey Wilson, vocalists Maestro Andrea Bocelli and Matteo Bocelli, and KPop Demon Hunters’ HUNTR/X.

The news of U2 playing the Netflix Thanksgiving Eve game comes as Puck reported that Jay-Z has booked himself for next year’s Super Bowl, which also be held at SoFi. Jay-Z’s Roc Nation is responsible for booking and producing the halftime show for the NFL.
