"Welsh humour at its finest": Popular BBC sitcom with Taskmaster star gets first look at new season

First look images from the BBC let fans see Mike Bubbins back in the role of Tony Mammoth ahead of Mammoth's eagerly anticipated third season. First airing in 2021, Mammoth follows the eponymous PE teacher who was presumed dead in a 1979 Alpine avalanche as he wakes up decades later and tries to navigate modern life.
The beloved Welsh comedy was renewed for a third season in May, with several stars reprising their roles for the upcoming episodes.
Returning for series three are Taskmaster star Sian Gibson as Mammoth's daughter Mel, Joel Davison as Mel's son Theo, Joseph Marcell as Mammoth's friend Roger, and John Weldon as head teacher Mr Cowley.

Joining the cast as guest artists for season three are Good Omens' Elizabeth Berrington, Saturday Night Live UK's Freddie Meredith, and Smoggie Queens' Mark Benton.
A synopsis for season three teases: "The new series sees Mammoth finding romance with Jo (Elizabeth Berrington), a no-nonsense police officer.
"Freddie Meredith joins as Lucas, Mammoth’s new talent agent, who lures him back into the celebrity world, while Mark Benton plays Roy, Mammoth’s fellow teacher and new best mate, with the pair bonding over their shared love of bunking off school and taking it easy."
It continues: "Mammoth also has his day in court when he takes on the council over his home spa, while an unscheduled school trip to the Wimbledon’s men’s semi-final, becomes one to remember, for all the wrong reasons.
"Mammoth may have been given a second chance at life, but he’s still determined to live it entirely on his own terms."

Branded "Welsh humour at its finest" by a fan on IMDb, the series, set and filmed in and around Cardiff, will return early next year with five new episodes.
Speaking about Mammoth's renewal in a statement, Bubbins said: "I can’t wait for people to see the next adventures in the life of Tony Mammoth. He’s back funnier, bolder, and dafter than ever. When I first came up with the idea, I didn’t dream that in a few years it would be back for a third series...
"It’s once again been a lot of hard work for me, Paul Doolan and Luke Mason, although when the three of us spend our days in a room together laughing, I’m reminded that it’s not exactly the same sort of hard work that my grandad did toiling away as a coal miner for 50 years. Although, in fairness, we have both never won a BAFTA. So make sure you watch the new series, and don’t forget…Mammoth is the word!"
Mammoth season three will air in 2027. Seasons one and two are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
