‘Dutton Ranch’s’ Kelly Reilly, Kenneth Branagh And, Via Video, Samuel L. Jackson Bring Star Power to Paramount U.K. Upfront
Skydance streamers Paramount+ and Pluto TV brought out the stars for a big U.K. ad sales upfront event in central London on Thursday evening.
Kelly Reilly of Yellowstone universe ranch drama Dutton Ranch, Kenneth Branagh and Peter Sarsgaard of the upcoming Scottish Highlands drama Laird, and mafia drama MobLand executive producer and 101 Studios CEO David Glasser graced the stage at the Royal Academy of Arts in the British capital as the company shared first looks at upcoming content.
Samuel L. Jackson in a video message discussed Frisco King, and David Beckham discussed Paramount+’s UEFA Champions League coverage. He also unveiled that his Beckham & Friends Live will become available beyond the U.S. starting next year.
Appearing at the Paramount U.K. upfront event after a sizzle reel that included the Alicia Silverstone event series Clueless, Reilly shared: “Can’t wait for Clueless.”
The second season of Dutton Ranch filming will start at the beginning of next year, she told the event. “South Texas – lots of snakes,” the star said about the location of the series. And she lauded the cast, saying: “I was incredibly blessed to be joined by two acting icons,” namely Annette Bening and Ed Harris. “We have been very surprised and very grateful” for the audience response.
Lee Sears, president, international ad sales & Paramount Media Labs, led a look at what’s ahead for Paramount+ and Pluto TV, from original series and the UEFA Champions League to the upcoming film slate. He highlighted that, as recently unveiled, from 2027, the company will handle its U.K. ad sales in-house, allowing it to serve marketers more effectively.
Earlier in the day, Paramount+ released first-look images for the eight-part bank heist thriller series The Day, starring Minnie Driver (Emily in Paris, Runaway), Luca Pasqualino (Rivals, The Musketeers) and Louisa Harland (Renegade Nell, Derry Girls). The show, based on the 2018 Belgian series De Dag, unfolds over the course of a single day and changes perspectives between the police and the robbers and hostages.
