Emmerdale first look as Belle Dingle receives alarming Tom King news

Emmerdale's Belle Dingle will receive some shocking news next week as her abusive ex Tom King is due to be released from prison. Tom was sentenced to three years in prison in 2024 following a high-profile coercive control and abuse storyline.

In a preview clip from next week, Belle is seen at home with boyfriend Kammy Hadiq, as well as Sam and Lydia. As the four are joking around and looking at pictures from Cain's fishing trip, there's a knock at the door.

Kammy answers and a woman then introduces herself as Lizzie, Belle’s Victim Liaison Officer. Lizzie informs Belle that Tom will be released from prison soon, leaving her stunned.

Further spoilers have revealed that Tom will want to see Belle ahead of his release to seek her forgiveness.

Our Emmerdale insider shared: "This seems like another Tom King mind game designed to mess with Belle's head. It turns out that Tom has been confiding in Charles, who works as the prison chaplain, and has fully accepted responsibility for everything he did.

"Charles reckons Tom wants to beg for forgiveness, but Belle can't believe he's a changed man."

Nearly two years on from Tom's sentencing, Belle believes she is a different person and has her own ideas on how to handle her ex, much to Kammy's chagrin.

"Belle wants to regain control by going to see Tom in prison, on her own terms," our insider added. "She thinks that if she can confront Tom, she can take the power away from him.

"But Kammy is really worried that's the wrong move, and when Cain finds out, he agrees. The problem is that if she doesn't go to see him, Belle will be living in fear that Tom will just turn up."

Things will then get even tougher for the couple when Kammy tells Belle that he loves her, causing her to freak out and run off. Will the couple be able to survive Tom's reemergence?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
