Cult Box Office: Vishwak Sen’s Violent Film Trails Funky By Nearly 50% After 2 Days

Vishwak Sen’s latest release, Cult, is making noise for its violence. The Telugu drama is reportedly heavy on violence, prompting netizens to discuss it. The film has received mixed-to-positive responses from audiences on social media. Vishwak Sen has not just starred in the film but is also its writer and director.

How Much Did Cult Earn At The Box Office In 2 Days?

Described as a slasher thriller, Vishwak Sen‘s latest Telugu film has a lot of violence. The film, however, had a slow start at the box office. It earned only 95 lakh at the box office in India on its opening day. It saw a minor growth of 20% on Day 2, earning 1.15 crore. This is not significant growth for the film. It will have to sustain these numbers throughout the week to post a decent total.

Cult’s net total after 2 days stands at just 2.1 crore, which translates to 2.48 crore gross in India. The film’s overseas total stands at 45 lakh, bringing its worldwide gross to 3.23 crore.

Trails Funky

Cult, despite its bold themes, is trailing the collections of Vishwak Sen’s previous release, Funky. The Vishwak Sen starrer was released in theaters earlier this year. It also starred Kayadu Lohar in the lead. Funky had a strong opening of 2.2 crore. However, it dropped at the box office on Day 2, earning 4.1 crore in 2 days. Despite Funky seeing a drop on opening day, it is still ahead of Cult in 2-day total. Cult is 48.78% behind Funky after 2 days. Funky wrapped up its theatrical run with a net total of 8.95 crore. If Cult gains momentum in the coming days, it could surpass Funky.
