Miles Teller to Be Honored by Newport Beach Film Festival (EXCLUSIVE)

Miles Teller will be honored with the Artist of Distinction Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
He will be presented with the recognition at the fest’s annual Honors ceremony on Oct. 18.
“Miles Teller brings extraordinary dedication to every role he takes on,” Newport Beach Film Festival CEO and executive director Gregg Schwenk said. “He consistently delivers standout performances in both major blockbusters and character-driven indies, and we are thrilled to celebrate his career in Newport Beach.”
Teller next stars in James Gray’s thriller “Paper Tiger” alongside Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. The film follows two brothers who become entangled in a dangerous criminal underworld. The film will screen at the Newport Beach Film Festival on Oct. 18. Neon will release the film in theaters on Nov. 13.
Teller’s credits include his performance as Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in Paramount’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” his breakout role in Damien Chazelle’s “Whiplash,” and his portrayal of producer Al Ruddy in the limited series “The Offer”. Teller’s other recent work includes A24’s “Eternity,” Apple TV+’s “The Gorge,” and dramas such as “The Spectacular Now,” “Only the Brave,” and “Bleed for This”. He is currently in production on the crime thriller “Copperhead.”
Teller joins previously announced Newport Beach Film Festival honorees KJ Apa, Sosie Bacon, Gemma Chan, Jonás Cuarón, Sarah Finn, Mckenna Grace, Justin Hartley, Taraji P. Henson and Jack O’Connell.
The festival takes place on Oct.15-22. In addition to “Paper Tiger,” this year’s program also features screenings of “A Talent for Murder,” “Behemoth!,” “Ink,” “Josephine,” “La Bola Negra,” “The Only Living Pickpocket in New York” and “Wild Horse Nine.”
