Chris Hemsworth's long-awaited Netflix sequel gets exciting filming update

Chris Hemsworth has given an exciting update on the filming process of Extraction 3. The Thor actor has returned to the role of Tyler Rake in the third installment of the Netflix action film franchise.
The series follows Rake, a black ops mercenary who, along with his team of former military mercenaries, embark on several dangerous global rescue missions.
Following the release of Extraction 2 in June 2023, the third film was announced, but it wasn't until April 2026 that it was confirmed that Hemsworth would be returning, along with Sam Hargrave as director.

In July this year, filming finally took place across Australia and Europe, and now, it appears as though it has come to an end, at least in Thailand, according to Hemsworth's Instagram page.
Sharing several photos of himself holidaying in Thailand along with his two sons, the Avengers star wrote in the caption: "Finishing up my time in Thailand. Crazy few weeks of filming Extraction 3 but managed to fill the weekends with some fun non work adventures too!"
While filming appears to have wrapped in Thailand, there's still no indication of when we could expect to see Extraction 3, though, according to What's On Netflix, a 2027 release date is expected.
However, what we do know is who is scheduled to return, as alongside Hemsworth, Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani are also coming back to the threequel, along with a new face in the form of Pierce Brosnan.

Last month, first-look images showed Hemsworth and the James Bond star filming a dramatic sequence, with Bronsan grimacing in pain while his hand rests against a pane of glass, leaving plenty of speculation as to what his character could be up to.
Along with them are some new additions, including Don Lee (Train to Busan) as mercenary Lee, while Joe Taslim (The Raid), Chi Lewis-Parry (28 Years Later) and Siena Agudong (Resident Evil) are currently cast in undisclosed roles.
It's not just new cast either, as David Weil is taking over from Joe Russo as screenwriter, though he, along with Anthony Russo, remains onboard as producer.
