Rain, thunderstorms a chance in Brisbane after warm stretch

Translate

Rain is on the cards for Brisbane with an outside chance of thunderstorms following a stretch of warmer weather.

Up to 15 millimetres could fall on Tuesday as a trough approaches south-east Queensland, the Bureau of Meteorology believes, with wet weather likely to return later in the week.

Bureau of Meteorology senior meteorologist Liam Smart said it was difficult to forecast exactly how the week would play out.

“It’s a bit of a messy set-up over the next couple of days,” he said.

“You can get 15 millimetres tomorrow potentially, but you could also end up with nothing.

“It’s purely dependent on where those thunderstorms fall.

“Realistically, tomorrow is looking at our best chance for some higher falls, and then grading off as we [go] into the rest of the week and then the weekend looks a little bit better again for showers.”

Smart said temperatures would probably cool substantially later in the week.
