Atilia Haron brings an intimate new chapter to the stage

For Atilia Haron, this weekend’s concert is not just a celebration of her birthday – it is also an invitation for longtime fans and newcomers alike to experience the songs that have shaped who she has become.

Atilia, full name Raja Putri Atilia Raja Haron, has spent more than two decades building a distinctive place in Malaysia’s jazz scene. Known for her velvety vocals, she has long blended jazz influences with a contemporary Malaysian sensibility, giving her music an appeal that stretches beyond dedicated jazz listeners.

This Saturday, the local singer-songwriter will take the stage at Robert’s Theatre, The Campus Ampang, for “Atilia Haron in Concert”, a 90-minute show drawing from a catalogue of more than 40 songs.

The evening will feature beloved favourites, fresh material and specially reworked duets, with Atilia describing the show as one shaped by memory, reflection and growth.

“It will be a deeply personal musical experience as I invite my fans into my most intimate chapter yet,” she said.

Over the years, Atilia has become known for songs such as “Indah” and “Gelombang”, with other well-loved tracks including “Bahagiaku”, “Silly Little Thing” and “Aku Curiga”.

Music director Fly Halizor will lead the live arrangements during the show, with percussionist Steve Thornton among the musicians.

As an added treat, Atilia will be joined by Indonesia’s SORE Ze Band for several songs during the night. This collaboration, too, is a personal one, shaped in part by her friendship with the late Ade Paloh, a key figure in SORE’s journey.

Among the anticipated highlights is their song “Dimanakah Kau Sore Ini?”, which you can listen to below or on Spotify.

The concert is supported by Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia, which has stood behind Atilia since the earlier years of her career.

Karyawan president Freddie Fernandez describes Atilia as an artiste who has carved out her own niche in the Malaysian music industry while building a career that spans both music and business.

For longtime listeners, the concert offers a chance to reconnect with songs that may have accompanied different chapters of their own lives. Newer fans, meanwhile, may find it a gentle introduction to an artiste who has spent decades shaping her own sound and identity.
