KL Rahul's Horror Show Continues As India A Fight Back Against New Zealand A

Translate

India's Test vice-captain KL Rahul endured a disappointing outing with the bat in the first unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A in Lincoln, New Zealand. Rahul was dismissed for a duck in the first innings and managed just four runs in the second innings on Sunday. His dismissals dented India's batting hopes as they were bowled out for 113 in the first innings. New Zealand A responded strongly, posting 317 to take a commanding first-innings lead of 204 runs. Rahul was dismissed by Fraser Sheat in both innings. In the first innings, he fell for a duck, while in the second, he was dismissed in unfortunate fashion. Attempting to leave a delivery outside the off stump, Rahul saw the ball roll back towards the stumps. While trying to stop it with his bat, he accidentally dislodged the bails.

India A's batting problems began in the first innings when they were dismissed for just 113. Yash Rathod top-scored with an unbeaten 44, while Devdutt Padikkal contributed 32.

New Zealand A then made 317, securing a substantial first-innings lead.

For India A, Anshul Kamboj and Auqib Nabi picked up three wickets each, Akash Deep also sent two New Zealand A batters back, while Simon Keene led New Zealand A's bowling attack with a five-wicket haul.

After Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to make an impact in the second innings, Padikkal and Sai Sudharsan steadied the innings with an unbroken partnership.

At stumps on Day 2, India A were 106/2, still trailing by 98 runs. Padikkal remained unbeaten on 56, while Sudharsan was not out on 39.
