Sydney teenager charged with four counts of rape against teenage girl
A 15-year-old allegedly raped a teenage girl four times over eight months, and intentionally choked a boy without consent in separate incidents occurring across the Sutherland Shire as late as July.
Officers from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad arrested the teenager at a home in Sydney’s southern suburbs on Friday. The youth was then taken to the Sutherland Shire police station.
The 15-year-old was charged over the incidents, allegedly occurring across Sydney’s southern suburbs from December to July.
They face four counts of aggravated sexual assault, which under NSW law is an offence equivalent to rape, and intentionally choking a person without consent.
They appeared at a children’s court on Friday, where they were granted conditional bail to appear before the same court in November.
The arrests come months after three Scots College students, aged 13 and 14, were charged with the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in a Bondi Junction alleyway in July. The boys remain on strict conditional bail, including a night curfew and a ban on entering Bondi Junction, while court proceedings continue.
Two students from St Gregory’s College in Sydney’s south-west suburbs were last month charged with the rape of a 17-year-old girl at a home in the Macarthur region. Police allege the boys, along with another 17-year-old who didn’t attend the school, had inflicted a multi-hour assault on the girl.
It came days before a 16-year-old from Sydney’s northern beaches was killed after a suspected choking act during sex, renewing warnings about the dangers of sexual strangulation and violent online pornography.
