An Australian band’s ‘unreal’ journey to break a gig world record

Translate

Dream rock band Fathom travelled roughly 700km across Australia to play nine shows, setting a new Guinness World Record for most concerts performed in 12 hours across multiple cities.

In order to beat the record, venues needed to be at least 50km apart in cities populated by more than 15,000 people, with half of the cities needing to have populations of at least 100,000.

Fathom partnered with a mental health service, Beyond Blue, donating half of the revenue from ticket sales and merchandise.

The BBC sat down with the duo to recount the day full of excitement and hurdles.
