Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze is expected to spend at least two months on the sidelines after sustaining a hip injury.

The AC Milan winger reportedly picked up the injury during preparations for the Rossoneri’s UEFA Europa League clash against Bournemouth on Thursday.

According to Corriere della Sera, via MilanNews, Chukwueze has already consulted a specialist and commenced treatment for the injury.

The 27-year-old is expected to undergo another assessment in 10 to 15 days, although he is not anticipated to return to action until the end of the year.

Chukwueze has been a regular feature for the Serie A giants this season following his return from a loan spell at Premier League side Fulham.

The former Villarreal winger has recorded two assists in eight appearances across all competitions for Milan.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are reportedly considering recalling Zachary Athekame from his loan spell at Lyon to provide cover for Chukwueze during his absence.

Milan are already dealing with long-term injury concerns involving Matteo Gabbia and Alexis Saelemaekers, making Chukwueze’s latest setback another blow to the club’s squad depth.
