Jakarta (ANTARA) - Waste-to-energy (WtE) projects developed by PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera), the clean energy arm of Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund Danantara, have attracted 101 prospective partners from Indonesia and abroad, reflecting growing investor interest.

The latest expansion follows the admission of 26 new entities to the Phase 3 Selected Provider List (DPT), including 16 consortia led by Indonesian companies.

"The inclusion of consortia on the DPT serves as a collaborative vehicle, enabling both domestic and international industry players to participate in project development," Denera Chief Operating Officer Dimas Adi Wibowo said in a statement on Friday.

With the latest additions, the total number of prospective bidders seeking to develop and operate waste-to-energy facilities has increased more than fourfold from 24 entities in the initial phase.

In addition to Indonesian companies, the list includes various international participants from China, Japan, France, Singapore, South Korea, India, and Hong Kong.

Denera Chief Executive Officer Fadli Rahman said the increase in participation in Phase 3 reflected strong commercial confidence in waste-to-energy projects while creating greater opportunities for domestic companies to lead major infrastructure developments.

"For Denera, maintaining this development process is vital to building a structured, sustainable, and well-governed waste-to-energy ecosystem in Indonesia," Rahman said.

The DPT serves as an official shortlist of prequalified entities eligible to participate in tenders as project developers and facility operators.

Denera emphasized that successful waste-to-energy projects would depend on cross-border collaboration, combining advanced conversion technologies and strong international financial capacity with local expertise in implementing projects suited to Indonesia's municipal waste conditions.
