MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) agrees with Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson that secrecy is key when handling the manhunt operation on Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

“Tama ang sinabi ni Sen. Lacson na secrecy is key in our operation,” PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co told reporters on Tuesday. (Sen. Lacson was right when he said that secrecy is key to our operations)

“We do not expound on what we are doing. Ito ay operations, meron tayong tinatawag na operations secrecy (These are operations, and we have what we call operational secrecy),” Co added.

Lacson earlier said secrecy discipline is essential when law enforcers pursue a high-profile target.

He cautioned against publicly disclosing operational details in the intensified search.

Co said the PNP would provide updates on its manhunt for Dela Rosa at the appropriate time.

Dela Rosa, a former PNP chief, is facing an arrest warrant over crimes against humanity charges before the International Criminal Court. /ms
