How to watch Liverpool vs Villarreal: TV channel and live stream for Champions League tonight
The Reds produced a gritty comeback win over Brentford at the weekend, but it was far from a perfect outing as they picked up a pair of new casualties.
Dominik Szoboszlai was rushed back from a hamstring injury to feature, but did not last long at all before reaggravating the issue, which forced him off.
The same fate befell the half-time substitute Jeremie Frimpong, who also went down with a muscle problem less than ten minutes after his introduction.
He is now not expected back until after the November international break, though there is slightly more optimism around the important Hungarian midfielder Szoboszlai.
“It is not a new injury. I think it was in the same place it was probably the past week,” said Andoni Iraola of Szoboszlai. “He hasn’t worsened the injury but probably we have to be a little bit more patient until he recovers fully.”
The Reds sit sixth in the Champions League table as it stands, having won both of their games so far. They put six past Austria’s LASK last time out and dispatched Atletico Madrid before that.
