Prime Video’s ‘Terminal List’ Franchise Expands With ‘Savage Son’ Series

Translate

Prime Video‘s Terminal List franchise is going in a new direction.

The Amazon-owned streamer has given a series order to Savage Son, a new drama that centers on James Reece, Chris Pratt‘s Terminal List character. The show is based on Jack Carr’s novel of the same title, the third book in a series following former Navy SEAL Reece.

The series order comes two weeks after season two of The Terminal List debuted on Prime Video. Despite a four-year gap between seasons, the show posted healthy viewing numbers upon its return: It drew 830 million minutes of watch time for the week of Oct. 19-25 (season two premiered Oct. 21).

“Jack Carr’s work has connected with audiences in a way that speaks to the power of his storytelling and the incredible dedication Chris Pratt and the entire team bring to every episode,” said Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios. “The Terminal List franchise continues to resonate, and Savage Son takes the story into its most intense chapter yet.”

Prime Video has not yet made a decision on whether to renew The Terminal List, which also stars Constance Wu, Tom Hopper and Taylor Kitsch. The novel Savage Son features some Terminal List characters alongside Reece, but it’s not yet certain who (if anyone) from the main show’s cast would join Pratt in the series. No writer or showrunner is attached to the new show yet.

Savage Son follows the 2023 prequel series Dark Wolf in the Terminal List franchise. It will follow Pratt’s character as he “faces his most personal and dangerous mission yet,” the logline reads. “Savage Son is a gripping blend of military action, espionage, and wilderness survival, exploring the thin line between civilization and the savage instincts that emerge when survival becomes personal.”

Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, and Civic Center Media are producing Savage Son.
