Of the many roles Chris Pratt plays in his life, the one he says matters most is the one he is least likely to win an award for: father. The Terminal List actor is married to author Katherine Schwarzenegger, and they have three children together.

Pratt also has a son, Jack, with his ex-wife, actress Anna Faris. In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Chris Pratt spoke about how his faith shapes his parenting.

He starts each day with it, and faith is the ‘most important’ thing he wants his children to inherit, above everything else he can give them.“My faith is how I start my day; it's how I end my day,” Chris Pratt told the outlet.

Parents, when your child refuses to greet relatives, do you make them say hello or respect their choice?

Faith is the most important thing for Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt has talked about God in public for years. Ahead of the season 2 release of The Terminal List, the actor opened up about raising four kids in Hollywood while keeping his Christian faith at the centre of their lives.

Faith is how he starts and ends each day, and he wants it to be a part of his children's lives as well.“Oh, God, you know, I'm, for the most part, always gonna be a man of faith. My faith is how I start my day; it's how I end my day. It's the most important thing that I'll be able to pass on to my kids,” the actor told the outlet.Chris Pratt has always been vocal about his beliefs. At the 2018 Teen Choice Awards, he said, “I want to thank God.”

He also told the young audience that they should love God as he does.“I always do that when I’m up on a big platform in front of a bunch of young faces. I say, ‘I love God!’ That’s my thing, I love Him and you should too!” He also weighed in on how the world assumes Hollywood is anti-religious. “I think that there’s this narrative that exists out there that Hollywood is anti-Christian or anti-religious, but it’s just not the case,” he said.

“They are kind of not anti-anything. They are kind of pro whatever is authentic to you.

And I like that. Because it’s authentic for me to be pro-Christian, pro-Jesus. That’s my thing. I like it.”Pratt’s openness has drawn criticism. Despite the criticism, the actor has continued to speak openly about his faith and his belief that God has a plan for his life.

Fatherhood and faith

Chris Pratt is a father of four. For him, it is the best role he has had in his life.

Though the role demands a lot, he wouldn’t trade it for anything else. “It's an incredible blessing to be a father. It's also a lot of hard work. And so I think I just want to teach them that... I don't know, I want to do my best. I basically want to get right everything my dad got right and get right everything my dad got wrong. And I'm sure I'll screw up both, you know?” Pratt said.It was during his son Jack’s infancy that Pratt’s religious beliefs grew stronger.

In 2012, his son with his then-wife, Anna Faris, was born seven weeks premature, weighing only 3 pounds and 10 ounces at birth.“He had all of these issues going on. I prayed hard to God. I was in a season of transition spiritually at that time, and didn't quite fully understand. I made a deal with God again: ‘I'm sorry, God, here I am again, asking for your grace again.’ And He really saved my son, and that was the moment [my faith] was cemented. My heart softened, and my faith hardened,” the actor told the Christian Post previously. He also spoke about how he is ‘unashamed’ of his faith. “I'm a father of four. I want to raise my children with an understanding that their dad was unashamed of his faith in Jesus, and with a profound understanding of the power of prayer, and the grace and the love and the joy that can come from a relationship with Jesus… You don't hear that a lot from people in entertainment, but it's who I am. I'm not going to hide behind it. A city on a hill cannot be hidden,” he told the outlet.Meanwhile, on the professional front, the new season of The Terminal List began premiering on Prime Video on 21 October 2026.
