PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Zul Hadi Ahmad has been appointed as Sabah Federal Secretary, effective tomorrow, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar announced.

Shamsul Azri said Zul Hadi, 57, brings 32 years of experience in economics, finance, policy and strategic planning, having previously served as Division Secretary of the Agriculture, Sectoral and Socioeconomic Development Planning Division at the Economy Ministry.

"I am confident that his experience, expertise and leadership will be valuable in discharging his duties as Sabah Federal Secretary, particularly in strengthening administrative coordination and facilitating the implementation of federal policies and development projects in Sabah," he said in a statement today.

Zul Hadi holds a Master of Science in Financial Accounting from Westminster College Oxford, United Kingdom.

His previous appointments include Unit Head in the Strategic and Corporate Financial Control Division of the Malaysian Treasury, as well as positions at the Transport Ministry (MOT) and the International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI).

"Close cooperation between the Federal government and the Sabah government must continue to be strengthened to expedite the resolution of implementation issues, improve coordination among agencies and ensure that the needs and interests of the people remain a priority," Shamsul Azri said.
