John Boadu’s Office rejects reports of Boadu-Agyarko feud, urges NPP unity

The Office of the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has dismissed reports alleging that he publicly ridiculed former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko during the party’s recent national executive elections campaign.

In a statement dated November 2, the Office described the claims, contained in an online publication dated October 31, as unverified and urged party members and the public to refrain from circulating narratives that could undermine efforts to rebuild unity within the party.

It denied the remarks attributed to Mr Boadu, while stressing that it had no verified evidence that Mr Agyarko authored or endorsed statements being circulated in his name.

The statement identified Facebook accounts Umar Haris and Kofi SammyTV as having apparently helped circulate the narrative but said the Office would not speculate about their motives or assign responsibility without conclusive evidence.

It consequently appealed to party members and the public to verify information before sharing it.

The Office also reaffirmed Mr Boadu’s commitment to reconciliation and mutual respect following the party’s competitive internal elections, stressing the need to bring all members, including Mr Agyarko, together in pursuit of the NPP’s collective objectives.

It called on party members, supporters and contestants in the recent national leadership and flagbearership contests, as well as their campaign teams and associates, to exercise restraint, uphold discipline and avoid inflammatory commentary that could deepen divisions.

“Our internal elections were contests for leadership, not grounds for lasting division,” the statement said, adding that members must now unite under one banner and concentrate on the party’s preparations for the 2028 general elections.

The Office further stressed the need for the NPP to present Ghanaians with what it described as a credible and coherent alternative to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

It cautioned that internal disagreements and individual ambitions should not overshadow the party’s broader political objectives.

The statement therefore urged party faithful to disregard unverified narratives, recommit to unity and discipline, and support collective efforts to return the NPP to government in 2028.
