ABC Developing Legal Drama ‘Con Law’ From Joey Falco, 20th Television

EXCLUSIVE: ABC is developing Con Law, an original legal drama from writer/EP Joey Falco and 20th Television.

In the series, a brilliant, high-powered corporate attorney is wrongfully convicted of murdering her husband, losing everything — her freedom, her career, her daughter. Exonerated six years later, she joins a scrappy Brooklyn defense firm and uses the ruthless skills that once protected billion-dollar corporations to fight for others vulnerable of being screwed over by the system — all while searching for the truth behind the crime that ruined her life.

Jordan Cerf will exec produce for Linden Productions, alongside Falco, who is fresh off producing the whodunit pilot Puzzled for NBC.

An author, screenwriter, and showrunner, Falco rose through the ranks on staff of series like Sleepy Hollow and Treadstone, more recently serving as co-showrunner on The CW’s Charmed. In 2023, he was creator/showrunner of the ABC legal thriller pilot Judgement, starring Sarah Shahi and Reid Scott. At the moment, he’s also developing for TV at Netflix and New Regency. Simultaneously, he’s developing his first feature, the rom-com Common People, at Amazon with Berlanti Productions.

Falco published his debut novel, Blood on the Vine, in 2025; the rights for series adaptation are under option with Gaumont Studios. Also a three-time Jeopardy champion, a Humanitas Prize winner, and a WSET Level 2 Sommelier, he is repped by Linden Entertainment and Dan Fox at Hanson, Jacobson, Teller.
