NICA, NSC granted executive session at Senate budget deliberation

The Senate's deliberation on the proposed budgets of the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) and the National Security Council (NSC) was not made public on Monday as both agencies requested an executive session.

The Senate Committee on Finance is scheduled to tackle the proposed ₱2.86-billion budget of NICA and the ₱1.12-billion budget of the NSC.

Present in the deliberations were several officials from both agencies, including their respective heads NICA director Ricardo de Leon and NSC director-general Eduardo Oban Jr.

The presentation of the resource speakers were available on the live stream online. However, an official from one of the agencies was heard requesting for an executive session.

"With your permission, we would like to request for an executive session, on behalf of NICA and the NSC," an official was heard making the request.

The request was granted by the committee.
