Johor air quality improves, 4 areas record moderate API readings

JOHOR BARU: Air quality in four areas in Johor improved this morning, with all recording moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 10am.

Data from the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) showed Pasir Gudang recorded the highest reading at 84, followed by Larkin (77), Pengerang (72) and Kota Tinggi (70).

This marked a significant improvement from 4pm yesterday, when all four areas recorded unhealthy API readings.

Pasir Gudang recorded the highest reading at 162 yesterday, followed by Kota Tinggi (160), Pengerang (159) and Larkin (153).

An API reading of between 51 and 100 is classified as moderate, while readings between 101 and 200 are considered unhealthy.

The improvement this morning comes amid haze conditions that have affected parts of Johor, with the public advised to continue monitoring the latest API readings.
