Where to Watch the ‘SNL’ Season 52 Premiere Featuring Jalen Brunson and Katseye

Saturday Night Live is back for Season 52 with host Jalen Brunson and musical guest Katseye, with both making their debut on the long-running sketch-comedy series.

The season premiere airs on NBC at its usual 11:30 p.m. time slot, and it streams live on Peacock. Full episodes are also available to stream the next day on the NBCUniversal-owned streaming service.

Brunson is the first athlete to host SNL since Travis Kelce in 2023, the first NBA player since LeBron James in 2007, and only the fifth NBA player ever to take on hosting duties. We got a taste of his comedy chops in a teaser promoting the episode. In the clip, Brunson tries to use his key to the city to get into Studio 8H, the longtime home of Saturday Night Live, only to discover the key doesn’t open as many doors in New York as he expected. He escalates to a sledgehammer and a chainsaw before cast member Ben Marshall reminds Brunson that it’s a pull, not a push door.

Brunson has had a busy off-season after leading the New York Knicks to their first championship since 1973. He’s been making the rounds on talk shows, and is also set to appear alongside Knicks superfan Mariska Hargitay on an episode of Law & Order: SVU.

As for Katseye, they’re taking the stage amidst some lineup changes. Manon Bannerman has been on hiatus from the band since February, while Sophia Laforteza announced she was taking a break for “personal health and wellness” as of August. The group’s third EP, Wild, was released in August and peaked at Number One on the Billboard 200 album charts.

As usual, Saturday Night Live starts its next season with some fresh faces. Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter are joining the cast, while Jane Wickline and Ashley Padilla have been promoted to repertory players.
