'Ramayana: Part 1': Diljit Dosanjh to Anirudh Ravichander; five singers lend their voices to 'Hanuman Chalisa'

'Ramayana: Part 1' has brought together five popular singers for a new rendition of the devotional hymn 'Hanuman Chalisa'. Diljit Dosanjh, Kailash Kher, Anirudh Ravichander, Sukhwinder Singh and Mohit Chauhan have performed the track for the mythological epic.

The rendition accompanies a key sequence featuring Lord Hanuman and continues into the film's end credits. The movie arrived in theatres worldwide on November 5, 2026. The first instalment concludes with Sunny Deol's introduction as Lord Hanuman, building anticipation for the story's continuation.Diljit Dosanjh also marked the film's theatrical release through a post on Instagram.

The collaboration brings together singers with distinct musical styles for a devotional track that plays during an important moment in the narrative.

Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman compose the musical score

The film's music has been composed by Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman. Their collaboration adds another major element to the production's ambitious scale. The hymn has a long history of popular recordings in Indian music. Hariharan, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Lata Mangeshkar, Kailash Kher and Shankar Mahadevan are among the singers who have previously recorded different versions.

Sunny Deol's Hanuman appearance sets up the second instalment

Sunny Deol appears as Lord Hanuman towards the conclusion of 'Ramayana: Part 1'. His introduction leads into the next chapter of the two-part saga. The devotional track accompanies the sequence, giving the character's arrival a musical backdrop that extends beyond the scene. The second instalment is expected to focus on the Battle of Lanka. Its central conflict will revolve around Lord Rama's war against Ravana and his mission to bring Sita back from captivity.
