WWE Crown Jewel is still on for tonight, November 7, but the security worries in Saudi Arabia haven't gone away. WWE's travelling talent have already landed without any reported problems, according to Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez. The US State Department's Saudi Arabia advisory is still at Level 3, which asks Americans to reconsider travel, and it points to missile and drone threats, Houthi attacks on civilian infrastructure and the risk of further escalation. WWE has also moved the show from an outdoor stadium to a nearby indoor arena, and a lot of the production is getting handled from the United States.

US Travel Warning Remains Active Despite WWE Talent Arriving in Riyadh

The US Embassy's November 3 security alert kept the October 23 order in place, so non-emergency US government employees and their family members still have to leave Saudi Arabia.

The State Department also keeps flagging attacks by Iranian-supported Houthi forces on civilian airports and critical infrastructure, and those have caused casualties and travel disruptions.

The official advisory stays at Level 3 – Reconsider Travel, with further escalation named as a possibility too.

Still, WWE talent made it to Riyadh with no reported issues. Alvarez said the roster members working Crown Jewel had arrived and added, “things seem fine at the moment.” Power Slap had been in Saudi Arabia all week as well, again without reported problems.

WWE Changed Crown Jewel Venue as TKO Promised to Prioritize Employee Safety

Crown Jewel got moved from an outdoor stadium to a nearby indoor arena in Riyadh. Much of the production work will run from the United States, though a sizeable crew is staying on location.

TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro spoke about the safety concerns at an October 28 staff meeting. He admitted that cancelling events hurts financially, but he was clear on where the company stands:

“But if there is danger or further escalation of any of these conflicts that are going on, we will not hesitate to cancel those events, damned be our budget.”

The US Embassy in Riyadh also put out a supportive message on November 6, calling Crown Jewel an example of American sports diplomacy.

It described WWE as an American promotion and said its events help strengthen ties between American and Saudi people.

So the show is still set to begin in a few hours tonight. The advertised card has Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn and Liv Morgan vs. Chelsea Green in the two Crown Jewel Championship matches.
