Geoffrey Mosiria Rejects Osoro’s Invitation to Join Tutam Camp, Backs Matiang’i

Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has rejected an invitation from South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro to meet and discuss joining the Tutam political camp, declaring that he does not want to be associated with a government he considers unsuccessful.

Mosiria said he was focused on addressing Nairobi’s challenges and questioned why Osoro wanted to engage him after allegedly remaining silent when he was dismissed from his position and later experienced frustrations.

In a statement on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Mosiria criticised Osoro’s proposal, saying he was already aligned with other political leaders.

“Hon. Silvanus Osoro, stop the sideshows. I’m not ready to be advised by a leader who is in a government that has failed Kenyans. I’m focused on fixing Nairobi,” Mosiria said.

Mosiria expressed disappointment with Osoro, claiming he had previously confided in the MP about difficulties he was experiencing and hoped he would intervene by speaking to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

According to Mosiria, Osoro did not act when he expected him to help address the situation, prompting him to question the timing of the invitation.

“When I was fired, you kept quiet. When I was frustrated, I took my time to share my frustrations with you, hoping you would talk to Sakaja and tell him to stop frustrating me. Instead, you kept quiet,” Mosiria said.

He did not explain what Osoro had said in response to his earlier concerns, but maintained that he was unwilling to take advice from someone serving in a government he believes has failed Kenyans.

Mosiria names leaders he is aligned with

The Nairobi county official also questioned Osoro’s attempt to draw him into the Tutam camp, saying he was already working with leaders he believes could form the next government.

Mosiria named former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka among the politicians he said he was aligned with.

“So, you want to meet me and take me to a Tutam government when I’m with Dr Fred Matiang’i, Sifuna, Ndindi Nyoro, Riggy G, and Kalonzo, the people who are going to form the next government,” Mosiria said.

He concluded his response by urging Osoro to consider joining Matiang’i’s political camp instead, using pointed language to dismiss the invitation.

“My friend Moigwa, I don’t want to be associated with you and your failed regime. Kuja kwa Dr Matiang’i, nimekuwekea kiti kama unataka third term,” Mosiria said.
