HONG KONG: Veteran Hong Kong actress Kara Wai has revealed that members of her team were robbed on their way from the airport into central Paris.

The 66-year-old star was in the French capital for Paris Fashion Week when the incident happened.

Detailing the ordeal on Weibo on Sept 30, she wrote: "Our team was stuck in traffic on the highway from the airport to the city centre when someone smashed the car window and snatched a bag."

According to Wai's manager, the stolen bag belonged to a staff member and contained their passport, ID documents, and personal belongings.

Thankfully, no one in the car was hurt.

The team reported the crime to the police and contacted the local embassy to arrange a temporary passport.

Wai herself was travelling in a separate car and was unharmed, though her team warned her to stay extra cautious for the rest of her trip.

Following the incident, the award-winning actress urged fellow travellers to stay alert, especially when carrying valuables.

"Try to keep your bags out of sight or put them under your seat when using public transport or taxis," she wrote.

"Make sure your documents and bank cards are safe, and avoid going out with expensive designer bags."

Wai, best known for her roles in At the End of Daybreak (2009) and The Defected (2019), was able to attend her Fashion Week events before heading home.
