Coronation Street reveals Christina's major lie in risky Richie visit

Coronation Street's Christina Boyd tells a bare-faced lie to Richie Parkinson next week, as she tries to find out what really happened to her late daughter Rachel. Will her daring move bring her any closer to the truth?
At HMP Weatherfield, Christina makes out to Richie that she has a brother who went through a similar ordeal to him, so she understands what he is going through.

The story is a load of old tosh, but Richie falls for it – and expresses his gratitude to Christina for being there for him…
"Christina is playing a clever game," explains our cobbles insider. "She wants Richie to feel confident enough to open up about what really happened to Rachel, which means earning his trust first.
"You'll have to see whether her strategy works out in the long run, but for now, it looks as though Christina has Richie where she wants him."
Meanwhile, George Shuttleworth frets over the safety of his girlfriend, fearing that she's bitten off more than she can chew. Will George admit his concerns to Christina, or keep them to himself for her sake?

Later in the week, Tim informs Sally that social services have closed the case involving her and Lucy, so the teenager will soon return to No.4.
"Lucy has been staying at a respite home since making allegations against Sally," explains our source. "So, when Tim gives Sally an update on the situation, she struggles to get her head around the fact that Lucy will be living under their roof again.
"It's an understandable reaction, and ultimately begs the question: can Sally cope with being a foster parent to Lucy after all's said and done?"

Over at the café, Sally feels overcome with stress, so she admits to Christina just how concerned she is about Lucy's imminent return to the Street.
"For all her faults, Christina is a deeply caring person," notes our insider. "She no doubt wants Sally and Lucy to lead happy lives, so it will be interesting to hear her take on what the Metcalfes should do next. Especially while she's so set on doing Rachel justice…"
What advice will Christina give Sally about Lucy? And how far will she take her investigation into Rachel's last moments?
