Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2' fun promo brings back Nelson and Anirudh

The makers of 'Jailer 2' have unveiled the promo for the film’s second single, adding another music update to the promotional campaign ahead of Rajinikanth’s much-awaited return as Muthuvel Pandian. The second song, titled “One Sun One Moon,” is scheduled to release on September 25, while the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial is set to arrive in theatres on October 15, 2026.The new promo once again brings together director Nelson and composer Anirudh Ravichander in a light-hearted setup, with their familiar humour forming the centrepiece of the announcement. The video has also sparked interest among fans ahead of the song’s release.

Nelson and Anirudh bring back their fun music hunt

The promo released by Sun Pictures, follows Nelson as he visits Anirudh’s studio in search of a new song for 'Jailer 2'. Rather than immediately getting down to the music, the composer and filmmaker engage in a playful conversation about the delay in finishing the tracks.

Anirudh’s international travels become part of the joke, with Nelson and the studio team teasing him about travelling abroad instead of completing the Jailer 2 songs.

The promo uses the banter to build anticipation for the upcoming track while retaining the quirky humour associated with Nelson’s promotional videos.

‘One Sun One Moon’ promises a Rajinikanth-style celebration

The promo eventually reveals the title and release date of the second single. Nelson asks Anirudh for an “international mass” song that also retains a local flavour, leading the conversation towards the one element that is central to the 'Jailer' universe, Rajinikanth’s larger-than-life screen persona.

The track is teased as “One Sun One Moon”, with the promo also playing on the phrase “One Sun, One Moon, One Superstar”.

The reference has been linked to Rajinikanth’s iconic image and his earlier screen persona in 'Baasha.'The song will be released on September 25, giving fans another musical preview of the sequel before its theatrical release next month.
