Investment Minister stresses boosting exports, production

Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid stressed the importance of supporting existing investments and maximizing the use of available production capacities to increase output, expand local manufacturing and create jobs.

He also underscored the importance of boosting exports by existing companies and opening new markets for Egyptian products, affirming the government’s commitment to facilitating investors’ operations, coordinating among relevant authorities to address challenges, and supporting export procedures and access to foreign markets.

Farid made the remarks on Monday, September 21, 2026, during a tour, accompanied by Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, Sharqia Governor Hazem al-Ashmouni and French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier, of two factories producing prestressed concrete and cosmetics in the industrial zone of 10th of Ramadan City.

For his part, Hashem said his visit to factories operating in the building materials sector highlighted one of the key sectors supporting the national economy, given its broad industrial base and diverse range of activities and products.

The sector contributes to meeting domestic market needs and supporting construction and development projects, while also offering potential to increase its contribution to exports and open new markets for Egyptian products, he added.

Hashem also noted that the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries are among the most promising sectors, with a significant opportunity to boost Egypt’s exports to markets across the region.
