Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom New DLC Officially Available Today

Released back in 2023 as the sequel to Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was as much of a success as its predecessor. Known by fans as the 'Wilds' saga, both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom put a brand-new spin on the Zelda franchise, offering fans a sprawling open-world and a painterly art style to boot.

Whilst some fans prefer the more cel-shaded visuals of classic Zelda entries, there is no denying that the Nintendo Switch series has been a hit, with the sequel hitting a massive 10 million copies sold within three days.

Here at Screen Rant, we also praised The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, awarding it a 10/10 in our review. As such, our very own Cody Gravelle had the following to say:

While most complaints about Tears of the Kingdom will largely be seen as small ones, that's just the bar the game sets for itself. It may not be perfect, but it's every bit as absorbing as its predecessor, with a world that feels even more dizzying in its grandeur.

Now that Nintendo is moving on from the Wilds duology in order to work on the November release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, it seems as though there is one last ditch attempt to bring people back to Tears of the Kingdom over three years on from its initial launch.

Launching today, 17 September, Zelda fans can get their hands on a brand-new Amiibo dedicated to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Mineru's Construct Amiibo retails at $34.99 and, as with any Amiibo, it will come alongside a code which, when scanned, will add some downloadable content to your game.

"She is King Rauru's elder sister and helped her brother fight the Demon King in her role as the Sage of Spirit long ago. She now helps Link in the present day through this Zonai construct," the official item description reads.

"This figure has articulated arms that you can move around and pose how you like. It also lets you receive random items in the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom games. You may even receive a special fabric for Link's paraglider in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom."

As you can see, there are plenty of in-game rewards to get your hands on upon purchasing the brand-new Amiibo. Simply purchase it and scan the accompanying code to the NFC touchpoint in order to join all of the brand-new DLC.

It remains to be seen why Nintendo has released DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom so long after its launch, but hey, if you have been debating another playthrough, or have yet to get started, this may just be the incentive you need.
