Edge Early Learning Centre closed after child hospitalised
Edge Early Learning in Port Augusta has been forced to close for two weeks after an incident which resulted in the hospitalisation of a child attending the service last Thursday.
The Education Standards Board (ESB) found the provider contravened it's responsibility to protect children from harm and hazards.
The centre will be closed until Monday, September 21 at 6.30pm.
The ESB also ordered the centre to provide written communication to the families of all children enrolled at the service which outlines the incident and the ESB's subsequent directions.
Edge will also need to undertake an investigation into the incident and "provide independent training to all service staff that includes emergency response".
